There is nothing quite like homemade butter – delicious on fresh hot bread, trickling off your fingers when you eat your Mother’s scones.  Well Jan and Steve decided that after being sensible and working in serious jobs for many years that they would do something they had yearned to do for a long time – make delicious homemade butter.

Fledgling butter company – Bellefield Butter – is the brain child of these enterprising people and Jan and Steve have innovated into flavoured butter and now produce six flavours among them sea salt, pōhutakawa smoked, and chilli and lime; sea salt butter spread on a slice of fig and walnut loaf  is a definite favourite.  You will find them at their local markets in Cambridge and Hamilton – so if you want a taste of the sublime on a slice of fresh bread go and visit – they would like nothing better than to talk butter!
